Living in Stapleford
Stapleford is a town about six miles west of Nottingham on the Derbyshire border, with 15,453 residents at the 2021 census. The Roach is the main crossroads.
Stocking making thrived here in the late 18th century, and some of the original Stocking Knitters' Houses still stand on Nottingham Road. St Helen's churchyard has a Saxon cross thought to be the oldest Christian monument in the Midlands.
Stapleford is well placed for both Nottingham and Derby, with the A52 and M1 junction 25 close by and the tram Park and Ride on Toton Lane.
